Lingerie Design, Bodybinds
What began as a pastime of designing outfits for my friends to wear during a dance performance, evolved into an exhilarating period of my life, where I ventured into luxury lingerie design. Being a self-taught lingerie designer allowed me to explore and apply my skills to a new and exciting "canvas". I experimented with unconventional materials and techniques to create bold and daring lingerie that defied traditional norms. My Lattice line was inspired by lauhala weaving, and I incorporated ring-infused lingerie elastic to achieve custom-fit pieces that exude glamour and luxury. With a nod to my Native Hawaiian ancestors' craftsmanship, the line celebrates my heritage. My Black line, on the other hand, features water-jet cut neoprene, carefully placed to accentuate women's curves. The result is not only flattering and comfortable but also accessible to a broader customer base, as it's one-size-fits-most (0-12).
My designs were well received by photographers and stylists alike, which allowed my brand to create a place for itself as an independent, luxury lingerie brand. My designs were adorned by many: FKA Twigs, Sarah Barthel of Phantogram, Azealia Banks, Kat Graham (1991 Cities at Night Remix music video), Stassi Schroeder, Tink (Million music video) and garnered a lot of press: The New York Post, The New York Daily News, GQ India, Galore Magazine, Vogue Korea, LiveFast Magazine, World Bride Magazine, and High Maintenance (pilot episode), to name a few.
